You can help the Madison Ulster
Project with the following:
Prayers
- Pray for the unity of God's
Church, an end to political violence and fighting in Northern Ireland,
a successful government able to effectively and peacefully share power
to ensure self-rule, and healing of centuries old wounds caused by the
violence.
Being a host family
- If you have a boy or girl
approximately 15 years old, your family can serve as host to a teen
from Northern Ireland.
- 3 Protestant girls
- 3 Protestant boys
- 3 Catholic girls
- 3 Catholic boys
- 2 Irish counselors
Being a committee member
- Executive Committee
- President
- Vice-President
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Host Family Committee
- Assist with recruiting host
families for teens and counselors
- Food Committee
- Assist with coordinating food
for Project activities
- Transportation Committee
- Coordinate transportation to
and from Project activities
- Drive to and from Project
activities
- Program Committee
- Assist in planning activities
for the month of July
- Assist in putting together
the parents handbook and daily pages
- Facilitate peace education
sessions
- Counselor Committee
- Assist in recruiting and
hiring two American counselors
- Fund-raising Committee
- Assist in planning
fund-raising activities
- Assist in obtaining grants
and donations
- Publicity Committee
- Help spread the word about
the Ulster Project, fund-raisers, Project activities, the need for
host families, etc.
- Auction Committee
- Assist in planning the
logistics of the action (dinner, location, publicity)
- Donate an item or service
- Help with contacting area
businesses and individuals to solicit items for the auction
Being a community supporter
- Provide food for selected
activities
- Provide vans or busses for
transportation
- Provide a service project for the
teens during July
- Make a monetary gift
- Attend our annual Dinner/Auction
